Blizzard on Twitter; Free D3 Merchandise

Believe it or not, Blizzard games have their own Twitter accounts now to keep fans and gamers updated with the progress on their games. There is a Diablo account, Starcraft account, and a Warcraft (WoW) account. There's even better news: Each account has it's own prize give-aways and Diablo's prize is the Unique Item Name Contest. Bassically, if you win, you get to name 5 items for Diablo 3. Here how to win the prize, it's simple.

Contest Period

The Contest shall commence on 10:00 AM Pacific Time August 14, 2009 (the “Start Date”), and shall continue in duration until 11:59 PM Pacific Time August 24, 2009 (the "Deadline"). All entries must be received by the Deadline and in accordance with these official rules to be eligible to win a prize.

How to Enter

You must be a registered user of Twitter® to participate in the Sweepstakes. If you are not a registered user of Twitter®, simply visit https://twitter.com/signup to register, which is free. Once you are a registered user of Twitter®, you must become a follower of Diablo® by visiting www.twitter.com/diablo and clicking “Follow.” Sponsor shall pose the following Twitter message on its Diablo Twitter page, located at www.twitter.com/diablo upon the commencement of the Contest: “Do a “RT @Diablo Win D3 prizes in the “#D3unique Item Name Contest – [item name entry]” You name it, others wield it! Rules: [link]” Qualified entrants will be the first five hundred (500) respondents each day that “re-tweet,” their answers to www.twitter.com/diablo, making certain to include “#D3unique” in their responses, to participate in the Contest. Responses can be no longer than 140 characters. Limit one (1) entry per person. If you make or receive “tweets” on your mobile phone, standard text messaging rates will apply. In order to participate in the Sweepstakes without receiving “tweets” on your mobile phone, be sure to deactivate your mobile phone from your twitter account.

Contest Rules and Prize

a. For each day during the Contest, Sponsor shall select the ten (10) best submissions out of the first five hundred (500) submissions received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time of that day as First Prize Winners from all qualified entrants for that day. First Prize Winners shall receive a Diablo Pin with an approximate retail value of US $12.00. Winners shall be chosen by Sponsor at its sole discretion based upon which entrants display the most original, authentic and/or funny artistic expression that is based on the Diablo universe. In the event of multiple submissions of the same item name, the first entry shall be determined the winner. The decision of Sponsor is final.

b. Within one (1) week following the Deadline, Sponsor shall select the five (5) best submissions from the group of First Prize Winners to receive the Grand Prize of having their submission used in the Diablo 3 interactive game. Sponsor may use the winning submissions in any manner it deems appropriate in its sole discretion. Winners shall be chosen by Sponsor at its sole discretion based upon which entrants display the most original, authentic and/or funny artistic expression that is based on the Diablo universe. In the event of multiple submissions of the same item name, the first entry shall be determined the winner. The decision of Sponsor is final.

c. All Contest winners will be notified via Twitter.com’s “direct message” system with instructions for claiming their respective prizes. To claim a prize, winners should follow the instructions contained in their notification. Prizes that remain unclaimed thirty (30) days after notification will be forfeited. If any winner is a resident of Canada, they will be required to correctly answer a time limited skill question in order to receive their prize.

Can you imagine winning this contest? It's like if I won I could name a sword, "Stebo's Grace" or something stupid like, "Donkey's Ear". Haha I already have a twitter account so I'm going to join the contest. Be aware that you must have a twitter account to enter this contest.
